Description

Okay so within the next few weeps ill be ravamping these guys! KEEP IN MIND they still will follow the general design / info as before, im just making it more thought out and different depending on variations! Ill eventually write a journal / make an info page or something but for now you get these!

- INFORMATION -

Watersprytes are a humanoid race that are meant to purify / keep intact the local water environments they inhabit. Watersprytes typically live in the environments with the greatest source of water in their general breeding ground. Sprytes life source is connected to their gems, and if these shatter or break the spryte becomes extremely ill and rarely lives. All gems emit a soft glow by default, color growing duller based on health. These three types of sprytes are rare mainly because of their fewer numbers, only ranging in the hundreds throughout the world. Because of this, hunters frequently attempt to kill/capture these sprytes because of the high values placed on them, which has made them more adept at hiding or staying in territories that are further from the general population. However some also prefer to live on land instead, finding they are safer among other species then their own.

Swamp Spryte:
.Are based on crocodiles / frogs
.Coloring is always based on their surroundings / Natural colors.
.Sclera is pure black
.Pupils look like a frogs
.Commonly have webbing between fingers / toes
.Have larger teeth because they are the dominant predator in their areas
.Only are poisonous if there are bright patterns on their skin. Extremely toxic if so and if directly injected into the skin they could kill something within minutes to hours. .However, the entire species has poisonous glands that secrete it from their skin. Can range from causing a mild rash to severe allergic reactions depending on the spryte.
.Extremely dangerous when threatened
.Carnivorous
.Have no horns unlike the rest of their species
.Have two rounded gems in between their eyes
.Fins sprout out of their head, covering their actual ears which are just holes on the side of their head
.Live alone or in small family units
.Live in huts above the swamp they inhabit
.Average height is 5'3 for both sexes
.Heavy importance on repopulating because of lower fertility rates / lifespans. Only mate for reproduction in the spring.
.Lower life spans for a waterspryte.
.Customarily have multiple partners at a time throughout their life. Courting is usually determined by giving their partner(s) poisonous fauna / plant life, which they both must eat. If they survive they may mate with each other. Vry stupid dont do this kids.

Lava Spryte:
.Are based on sea serpents. Many of them refuse to go anywhere near other species, and even the ones that do are shrouded in mystery. Frequently regarded as a myth.
.Coloring and patterns are based on the cave systems they typically reside in.
.Have no Iris or Pupil. ONLY SPRYTE where its common for them to have their eye color be the same as gem / horn color.
.Have large, jagged and pointed teeth, along with sharp claws.
.Are never poisonous. However, they do have unusually high body temperatures where prolonged contact can cause mild burns if not in the water.
.Many species will not go anywhere near them, these sprytes being the most dangerous ones you can find. Even other sprytes regard them with fear typically.
.Carnivorous
.Usually have two curved horns, which you can actually mildly see through because of the large amounts of light that generally radiate from them.
.Have one large gem on their back right above their tail.
.The webbing on their fins is completely gone unlike other sprytes, but they still have a slit/opening behind them so they can hear.
.Live in medium sized colonies for usually their entire lives.
.Live in deep cave systems found underneath the oceans bottom, typically right above the upper mantle of the earths core, with various underwater volcanoes right besides them.
.Even though they are called lava sprytes they dont actually reside in lava. However, they do live close enough that they are used to the high temperatures radiating around them, so much that if Lava actually touched them it would only cause minor burns in most cases.
.Male sex is typically around 6'7 ft tall, while females are around 6'5.
.Because of their longer lifespans they usually do not put much importance on mating, more so enjoying their lives exploring the sea, with this curiosity even extending to the land at times. However, mating seasons are typically every 10 to 12 years.
.Long life spans
.Typically have many partners throughout their life, though it is not uncommon for middle ages ones or even younger ones to settle down with one partner. Courting is very dangerous, because most of the time it involves finding the most dangerous thing one can, killing it, and bringing it back to their interested mate.

Freshwater Spryte:
.Are based on freshwater fish such as the angelfish or goldfish.
.Colors are always very bright and have a wide variety of them.
.Have white sclera. However, their pupils are always shaped like slits and do not react to light.
.Have human like teeth.
.Poisonous, but only in the sense that being bitten by their larger canines would cause slight headaches or red bumps.
.Very elusive and avoid confrontation whenever available. They prefer to live around secluded lakes which are rarely ventured into by other species. The most sought after spryte for their vibrant skin.
.Omnivorous.
.Have two large spiral horns in any shape.
.Have three diamond shaped gems on the center of their chest.
.Typical fin ears of other sprytes, though the fins attach along the side of their necks.
.Live in large colonies.
.Their homes reside along the sides of the lakes they inhabit, typically concealed within the trees so they are not easily noticed.
.Male sex is typically around 6'0 ft tall, while females are around 6'4.
.Even though they have larger lifespans than most sprytes, their mortality rate is high because of hunters. Because of this, their mating season is all year round.
.Long life spans
.Do not actually practice any mating customs unless they are courting another species, which is only observed in sprytes who have left their communities.

Keep in mind besides physical things you really dont have to keep any of the species info in mind ( ' u ')/// this is more so fun lore for me I hope you all realize how tired I am just with my writing lmfao. And if you have older ones you can still draw them the same as before!! Though id prefer people update theirs to look like this, and ill even edit your waterspryte to fit the newer designs if youd like! Ill only edit the original adopt though im not drawing you entirely new refs for free haha.
